Enormous chain-haired woman steps down to make room for a new installation in Patricia’s Green

by Nathan Codd

Long-time resident of  Hayes Valley, Ecstasy, has left her traditional spot in Patricia’s Green to make way for a brand new centerpiece for the neighborhood park.

Russel Pritchard of Zonal said that sometime early November, Hayes Valley residents will be able to gaze up at a 23-foot laser-cut Buddhist temple lit up with different colors from the inside.

"Future's Past" by Kate Raudenbush

You're going to love Hayes Valley. It's way too hot in Black Rock, and you'll probably get climbed on less.

Like Ecstasy, which was part of a larger installation at the Burning Man Festival in prior years, “Future’s Past” is fresh off last year’s “burn” and has been waiting to be displayed in Pat’s Green since January when the Hayes Valley Art Coalition decided to make it their next piece.

Once settled in, visitors will be able to walk inside the steel temple and peer out through the many intricately positioned holes and patterns cut into each side.
