On Sundays I head three blocks down the street to the local farmers market for my weekly supply of sustenance. The air seems cleaner when the market is in the neighborhood; it could also be the powerful smell of Lilies permeating the air. Allergies and discerning personal scent aversions can cause many people to shy away from this breathtaking flower, but I relish in it. I pay homage to the heirlooms, give an approving nod to the homemade lobster ravioli, satiate my fruit craving with a basket of strawberries and circle back around, stopping at the juice stand.

A fire broke out in the early afternoon in the 1100 block of Turk Street Aug. 10 when someone intentionally lit a mattress on fire in one of the units.

The Board of Supervisors passed a resolution Aug. 10 that will allow the California Enterprise Development Authority to issue a bond not to exceed $8 million to The Urban School of San Francisco “to refinance various capital facilities.”
